London, Ontario, October 6, 2015, Sifton Properties Limited has laid the cornerstone of a new relationship with the Town of Dorchester at a groundbreaking ceremony at the future site of Dorchester Terrace – 143 Byron Avenue in Dorchester, Ontario.

Dorchester Terrace will be a 4-storey, fully accessible 90 suite Residence offering local and area seniors one, one bedroom with den, and two-bedroom accommodations with a full spectrum of wellness support services including a first-response emergency system. In addition to personalized health and wellness services, residents will enjoy housekeeping services, laundry facilities, and daily dining in an open restaurant-style dining room.

The Residence will also include a theatre, coffee lounge with an internet library, a cards and games room, crafts and arts centre, hair salon with esthetics and spa, physiotherapy, exercise room and gym, a party room with a demo kitchen, and outdoor courtyards. A monthly social and recreational calendar of events will reflect the interests and lifestyle of the residents and promote friendship, family and a zest for life.

“We have looked at Dorchester for some time as part of our growing operation,” says Richard Sifton, President & CEO of Sifton Properties Limited. “Sifton is excited to start Dorchester Terrace, and become part of the Dorchester Community.” The design and planning process is nearing completion, with the Residence planned to open spring 2017.

Dorchester Terrace will become the 5th Retirement Residence in the Sifton Properties portfolio. The Residence will have similarities to each of the four Residences located in London, Mississauga and Waterloo, offering seniors and their families’ quality accommodations and support for the next chapter in their lives.
