At Sifton Properties, Earth Day takes on a particularly special meaning. It embodies our core values, and represents what our organization is striving towards. Nothing is more important than the health of the planet we live on and the state we leave it in for our children.
So how are we celebrating?
- We are planting trees, giving away free grass seed, soil and mulch, and coordinating a Community Clean Up at our Residential Rental properties in London, Brantford and Guelph.
- Residents of our Retirement Residences will participate in clothing drives, community cleanups, and an Earth Walk at the Sifton Bog. They will also plant trees and vegetable gardens, and enjoy guest speaker presentations by City of London recycling experts and arborists.
- As a partner of the London Clean & Green Community Cleanup, the Sifton team will participate in a Springbank Park cleanup.
- At Riverbend Golf Community we’ll plant a new herb garden to be used in our kitchen prep, promote a new line of golf apparel made from recycled plastic bottles, prepare a pollinator garden adjacent to our RiverBend beehives and host our 20th Thames Valley River Cleanup.
- We hosted a kids crafting and Earth Day awareness event at West 5 and we are welcoming families to stop by and leave a message on our Discovery Centre Earth Day tree. Learn more about Earth Day and what it means at West 5 on our blog.
