That is beautiful, that everyone that took place. I enjoy working at Richmond Woods Retirement Living I have been here for along time. I currently work in food service and see each and everyone breakfast lunch and dinner. Also look forward in meeting my new residents. Hope to see you soon

Joanne Van Elburg-Pasma not sure if you saw this or not. The sound isn't that great, but was nice to see a few of the residents that I liked - Gerry Meachem, John Smallbridge, Ruth Couthard and I didn't know who the last guy was! lol

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation is a time to reflect upon the painful history of residential schools. We remember those who never returned home and also honour the survivors, their families, and communities. This day serves as a reminder of the ongoing journey towards healing and understanding. It's a moment to come together, listen, learn, and acknowledge the truth, with the hope of building a more inclusive and compassionate future. Let us embrace this day with open hearts and minds, as we strive for reconciliation and justice for all.

Here are a few ways you can get involved:

🧡 Wear Orange - One of the most visible ways to show support. Be sure to read the story of Phyllis (Jack) Webstad.
🧡 Participate in an Event - Research what’s happening in your area and immerse yourself in opportunities to form community connection.
🧡 Educate Yourself – Take some time to learn, reflect and share with family, friends and children.
🧡 Support Arts & Media - Support the work of Indigenous artisans, authors and film makers.
🧡 Be Considerate - Today and every day, be kind and show consideration to Indigenous communities who are hurting as they reflect on their history.
