Celebrating a 100th anniversary as an organization is a big achievement; one that the Sifton family is honoured to realize. Not only are we filled with gratitude for the opportunities that helped us reach this milestone, we look back in awe on the journey we’ve taken as a family company. That family includes every employee, partner and customer that has played a part in shaping our goals and realizing our dreams.
100 Steps Forward – what does this mean?
Over 100 years our dreams were ever-changing. Together, we navigated a century of twists and turns, dynamic markets and even a global pandemic, one step at a time. As we look back at the footprints that brought us to today, we are full of excitement for the steps that lay ahead of us.
Let’s take a quick look back at our centennial year:
- In partnership with the Sifton Family Foundation, we donated $100,000 to individuals and families in need, reaching over 200 families in the communities we serve.
- Through a digital scrapbook, we collected memories that allowed us to look back over the years together, recognizing the significance of each milestone.
- During the holidays we filled and donated 100 shoeboxes with personal and wellness supplies for those in need.
- We launched a Sifton customer sweepstakes and reviewed hundreds of moving Sifton stories, ultimately awarding six lucky winners with prizes valued at $5000.
- In partnership with the City of London, we introduced an immersive digital experience, “Fresh Finds at a the Sifton Bog”, allowing visitors to engage with nature in a unique and educational way.
- We held a contest to name a nature trail at West 5, bringing Solara Trail to life with the help of a community resident.
- To show our appreciation to our dedicated employees, we gifted them with new swag and gifts, celebrating this momentous occasion in style.
- Of course, no centennial celebration would be complete without a grand event. Our two-day extravaganza, “Light Up the Square”, welcomed VIPs, customers, and the community to join us in marking this significant milestone. With the grand opening of Legacy Square at West 5 and a festival filled with vibrant colors, lights, and music, we celebrated the summer solstice in unforgettable fashion. From street artists to fire dancers, ferris wheel rides to aerialists, and delicious food and drink, it was a celebration to remember.
